Focusing aid on schooling and welfare needs is a priority in caring for the needy in Pangkor state assembly.

However, assistance to other groups will also be given attention and not marginalised to ensure that no residents drop out.

Member of the Pangkor State Legislative Assembly, Norhaslinda Zakaria said that assistance is given to all levels of people regardless of background as long as they are eligible for assistance.

Therefore, she said, residents of Pangkor State Assembly can make contact directly by coming to the Pangkor State Assembly Service Centre Office or contacting representatives in their respective areas.

“The Pangkor State Assembly Service Centre office in Taman Permai Jaya, Lumut, next to CK Hotel is always open to visit during office hours.

“I have also asked the representatives of officers in the area to help.

“I look more at welfare for those such as orphans, single mothers, and the underprivileged,” she said.

She said this during a visit and friendly session with the fishing community at Teluk Senangin Beach yesterday.

At the ceremony, a total of 20 fishing families received donations of boxes to share sustenance in the form of daily necessities.

In the meantime, Norhaslinda said, residents who want to apply for any help should ensure that all information is completed to facilitate the application process.

For example, she said, to apply for medical assistance or the Social Welfare Department, complete information about the applicant and supporting documents should be presented.

“This is because every application has a procedure but this process will be easy when we prepare the necessary documents.

“The function of a representative of the people is to facilitate, and I will help in matters of necessity other than complaints,” she said.
