The owner of Noor Jahan Bakery passed away

The owner of the famous bakery and cake shop in Ipoh city, Noor Jahan Bakery, Habib Rahiman P. Mohamed Salleh died this morning.

News of the deceased’s passing was shared by Ipoh Perak Bersatu Entrepreneur Cooperative Chairman, Shahrul Rahman on his Facebook page.

The deceased was confirmed dead at Fatimah Hospital Ipoh at 5.20 am and was believed to be receiving treatment there.

“For information, the owner of the legendary bakery and cake shop since 1902, Noor Jahan Bakery, Mr Habib Rahiman Bin P. Mohamed Salleh passed away at Fatimah Hospital Ipoh at 5:20 am.

“Together we pray for him,” shared the post.

Noor Jahan Bakery, which has been known for selling doughnuts priced at 80 sen, is one of the oldest shops still operating in the centre of Ipoh since over 120 years ago.

The business was started by his late grandfather in 1902 before being continued by his father.

In addition to doughnuts and bread, other foods that customers choose are ‘benggali bread’ and fruit cake.

In addition to local customers, many also come from the Klang Valley especially during school holidays just to get doughnuts and other items from this shop.
