The women doubles tennis players Yu-Yun Li (Taipei)-Anastasiia Poplavska (Ukraine), were victorious in the final of the doubles at the ITF World Tennis Tour Sanctband Tennis Championships which took place at the Arena Tenis Perak in Ipoh on Saturday.
The women’s doubles pairing from Taipei-Ukraine managed to defeat the pair Feng Shuo-Guo Hanyu from China with a score of 7-5, 6-2.
The media previously reported that two unseeded pairs made a surprise by advancing to the finals of the Sanctband ITF World Tennis Tour tennis tournament at the Perak Tennis Arena.
According to the report, the pair from China, Feng Shuo-Guo Hanyu, showed a brilliant performance when they upset the main pair, Gozal Ainitdinova-Anastasia Sukhotina 6-3, 6-4.
The pair of Yu-Yun Li (Taipei)-Anastasiia Poplavska (Ukraine) had to work hard before overcoming the pairing of Easwaramurthi Ashmi-Ito Aoi (India-Japan) 7-6(6), 7-5.
Meanwhile, as expected, the top player in the singles event, Lanlana Tararudee (Thailand) who advanced to the semi-finals before, emerged as the champion by defeating Jaeda Daniel from the USA in the finals of the singles event which took place at the arena yesterday.
