By: Aida Aziz

IPOH: The Rahmah Menu concept bazaar and Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman (Jalan TAR) which was introduced recently, are expected to liven up the atmosphere of Ramadan in Ipoh city this year.

According to the Mayor of Ipoh, Datuk Rumaizi Baharin, apart from the traditional Ramadan bazaar synonymous with visitors before, the introduction of the new concept also gives the public the best prices.

“InsyaAllah we will have two, or three (concepts) of Ramadan bazaars made apart from those organized by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) including associations and the Perak State Development Corporation (PKNP).

“There will be various concepts (Ramadan bazaar), PKNP will have a commercial concept, at People’s Park there may be a Rahmah Menu concept and MBI will remain with the traditional concept.

“The concept of Jalan TAR is under the PKNP but we are the ones who issue the licence, the new concept we are introducing is for the Ramadan bazaar and if possible at the same time as the Aidilfitri bazaar,” he said.

He said this at a press conference after officiating the MBI Outstanding Service Award Ceremony here, on Thursday.

Elaborating on the diversity of this year’s bazaar concept, Rumaizi said he will see the feedback and acceptance of the public before it is expanded to other areas for the coming year.

“The Ramadan bazaar concept of Menu Rahmah and Jalan TAR is the first, so let’s see first the acceptance of the people of Ipoh.

“What is important is that the bazaar traders will sell goods that are cheaper than the market price, allowing people to get quality goods at a low price,” he added.
