Police investigate senior immigration officer injuring an immigration officer

IPOH: The police are investigating the case of a senior immigration officer believed to have injured an immigration officer while undergoing a fitness test at the Depot Sementara, Bidor.

Perak Police Chief, Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said, at 2am last Friday, the Tapah District police received a police report made by an immigration officer stating that he had been injured by a suspect who is a senior immigration officer while undergoing a fitness test for officers and members of the Pasukan Taktikal Khas ( PASTAK).

“The police investigation found that the incident took place on March 9 at 9.30am, which was the last day of the test where the complainant and two trainees were instructed by the suspect to do push-ups 20 times.

“While doing a push-up, the suspect stepped on the back of the complainant’s neck causing the complainant to fall down and suffer an injury to his nose, a broken front tooth, a cut on his gums and his lip,” he said in a statement here today.

Mohd Yusri said the complainant sought treatment at the Hospital Shah Alam Emergency Department in Selangor.

According to him, the police have called the suspect and all the witnesses involved in the incident to assist in the investigation.

He said the case was investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code, which can be punished with a maximum prison sentence of seven years and can also be fined.
