SIMPANG PULAI: A woman died and two others were seriously injured after the Honda City car they were riding in collided with a lorry carrying a load of vegetables near Jalan Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands, today.
Assistant Director of the Perak Fire and Rescue Operations Division (JBPM), Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain, said he received a call regarding the incident at 3.29 pm.
He said members from the Simpang Pulai Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) rushed to the location and found the three victims trapped in the vehicle.
“A female victim was confirmed dead at the scene of the incident by hospital medical officers while two other victims, a man and a woman, were seriously injured.
“The truck driver did not suffer any injuries,” he told reporters on Monday.
He said again, members used a ‘cervical collar’ and a stretcher to remove victims trapped in the vehicle.
“Preliminary treatment was also given to other victims and they were then sent to hospital, while the deceased was handed over to the police for further action,” he said.
The operation led by Senior Fire Officer II Johari Mohamad ended at 5.12 pm.
