IPOH: Relief funds (Bantuan Wang Ihsan – BWI) have been handed over to 10 families in Taman Seri Raia, after their houses were damaged by strong winds and heavy rain recently.
Teja State Assembly member Sandrea Ng Shy Ching said among the affected areas were around Solok Raia route 1, 3, 5 and 7.
“Extreme weather conditions lately have led to many disasters.
“Last week, heavy rain and strong winds caused several houses to suffer roof damage in Taman Seri Raia.
“Fortunately the incident did not cause any injuries and there was no critical damage,” she said.
Therefore, Sandrea Ng said, she and Gopeng Member of Parliament, Tan Kar Hing and representatives of the Sungai Raya Mukim Penghulu Office held a meeting with the residents involved.
“Tan Kar Hing and I, as Gopeng Member of Parliament together with the Sungai Raya Mukim Penghulu Office held a meeting with the residents involved.
“The submission of BWI and the contribution of the people’s representatives have been carried out to help ease the burden of the residents in facing this,” she added.
