KAMPONG GAJAH: A 3-year-old child was reportedly seriously injured on the left thigh after the motorcycle he was riding on was hit by a car on Jalan Lebuh Paduka Felcra Changkat Lada late last Saturday afternoon.
Perak Tengah District Police Chief, Superintendent Barudin Wariso said, at 7pm on May 6, the police detected a video of an accident that went viral on a Facebook page, relating to a road accident involving a car and a motorcycle.
“As a result of this incident, a first information report was made at 10.44am. An investigation was carried out and it was found that the incident happened at 09.15 am.”, he said in a statement.
Barudin said, the accident involved a car driven by a man and a motorcycle ridden by a woman where both vehicles came from the same direction, that is from the direction of Changkat Lada towards Taman Changkat Lada Raya.
“When arriving at the scene, the car driver is believed to have lost control and hit the back of the motorcycle.
“As a result of this accident, the 3-year-old son of the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries on his left thigh and is still receiving treatment at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.
“The motorcyclist was slightly injured while the car driver did not suffer any injuries,” he said.
He said, further investigation is being conducted under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and the public or any party is advised not to make any speculations, assumptions or opinions that may cause confusion.
