BATU GAJAH: The Eco Green Market campaign for the Batu Gajah District Council was organised to further encourage recycling activities among the local community.

The chairman of the state’s Housing and Local Government Committee, Sandrea Ng Shy Ching was present to inaugurate the campaign at the Batu Gajah Public Market here recently.

Sandrea Ng said the programme was further boosted with the appointment of 33 Eco Warriors consisting of government agencies, NGOs, private companies and educational institutions.

“This campaign encourages the public as well as private parties such as factories to send recycled goods to the council to be exchanged for daily necessities and food items.

“With this approach, we can both make our environment cleaner and more environmentally friendly,” she said.
