UPDATE: Car hit the back of a trailer: Another child-victim died

TAPAH: Another victim, Muhammad Fawwaz Nasaruddin, 7 years old, who was involved in a road accident at KM 310.1 PLUS southbound was reported to have died while receiving treatment at Tapah Hospital at 9.20 this morning.

This makes a total of five family members who died in this tragic incident; Azriyani Abdul Latif, 45 years old and four children, Muhammad Azib Nasaruddin, 23 years old; Siti Nur Aminah Nasaruddin, 8 years old; Ahmad Uwais Qorni Nasaruddin, 5 years old and Muhammad Fawwaz Nasaruddin, 7 years old.

Perak Police Chief, Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri confirmed that his party received information regarding an accident involving a car and a lorry at the location at about 2.42am.

“Preliminary investigations found that a car traveling with a mother with her four children was traveling from Kuala Kangsar to Teluk Intan.

“When arriving at the scene of the incident, the driver of the car is believed to have lost control before hitting the back of a lorry carrying a load of sand.

“As a result of the accident, the driver of the car (23 years old) and three passengers, the mother (45 years old) and two other children (8 and 5 years old) died at the scene,” he said in a statement here a while ago.

He said that the next of kin of all the victims, who is also the father of the car driver, is currently in Bertam Penang, has been informed.

He said the case was classified under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
