BIDOR: A man died as a result of electrocution in Kampung Coldstream today.
Assistant Director of the Perak Fire and Rescue Operations Division (JBPM), Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain said the victim, who was around 40 years old, was confirmed dead at the scene by an officer from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM).
“The fire department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 11.30am before members of the Bidor Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) rushed to the location.
“No identification was found on the victim, the operation chief made a ‘size up’ and found that there was still electricity in the surrounding area.
“Following that, the fire department asked for help from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) to ensure that there is no more electricity there,” he told reporters on Monday.
He said the victim was then handed over to the police for further action.
The operation led by Senior Fire Officer II Ahmad Tarmizee Hassan ended at 1.35 pm.
