UPDATE: Trying to cut copper is believed to be the cause of the man’s death due to electrocution – Police

BIDOR: A man who reportedly died due to electric shock in Kampung Coldstream, this morning is believed to have tried to cut copper in the electrical power room of the Bidor Sand Plant, here.

Perak Police Chief, Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said, a review of past records found that the victim had eight criminal records including narcotics.

He further said that members of the Bidor Police Station received information from the public regarding the discovery of a man lying down and unconscious, suspected to have been electrocuted while in the electrical power room.

“The victim is believed to be trying to cut the copper in the electrical power room.

“The hospital was contacted and attended the scene. The victim was later confirmed dead at the scene,” he said in a statement on Monday.

He said the victim’s body was sent to the Tapah Hospital Forensic Department for the post-mortem process and the case was classified as sudden death (SDR).

He stressed again, the police strongly warned the public not to get involved in any activities that violate the law.

Earlier, the media reported that a man died due to an electric shock in Kampung Coldstream, here today.

Assistant Director of the Perak Fire and Rescue Operations Division (JBPM), Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain said the victim, who was around 40 years old, was confirmed dead at the scene by an officer from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM).
