Sultan Nazrin Inaugurates PGA Bidor Camp

BIDOR – Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, graced the auspicious occasion of the Inauguration Ceremony of the 3rd Battalion Camp of the General Operations Force (PGA) in Bidor today.

Accompanying His Majesty was the Raja Permaisuri Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim.

Also present were the Raja Muda Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa; Raja Puan Besar Perak, Raja Nazhatul Shima Sultan Idris Shah; and Raja Di Hilir Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.

Upon arrival, His Majesty was welcomed by the Chief Minister, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad; Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Dato’ Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah; and the Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.

The 3rd Battalion PGA Bidor Camp began its operations on February 8, 1984, after all administrative functions of the headquarters of the 20th Battalion of the Forest Police Force (PPH) were transferred to the camp.

Following the consolidation and merger of PPH Battalions throughout Malaysia on January 1, 1993, the 20th PPH Battalion was reformed as the 3rd PPH Battalion, involving a change from the ‘Maroon Beret’ to the ‘Blue Beret’.

Subsequently, on November 1, 1997, the name of the Forest Police Force (PPH) was changed to the General Operations Force (PGA).
