Firefighters brought down two women who slipped and sprained on the Lata Putih Ijok

BATU KURAU: The joy of a group of 15 factory workers doing jungle trekking at Lata Putih Ijok, here came to a halt when two of them slipped and sprained their ankles on the way down.

Following the incident, the help of the fire department was needed to bring down the two female victims to the main road.

According to a spokesman for the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak, they received a call regarding the incident at 12.03 this afternoon.

“Members from the Batu Kurau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were rushed to the scene of the incident.

“It is understood that the 15 people are factory workers from Kulim, Kedah who were doing activities in the forest there.

“The two victims are said to have slipped while doing the activity and their legs were sprained so they could not continue the journey,” he told reporters here today,

He explained further, the firemen then brought down the victims from the scene of the incident which was estimated to be 1 kilometer away from the main road.

“The fire brigade used a stretcher and took the victim out of the area, then handed him over to the Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM) for further action,” he added.

The operation led by Mohamad Hisham Osman ended at 3.12pm.
