IPOH – An initiative to guide more B40s to venture into the field of culinary entrepreneurship is implemented through the organization of short-term guidance courses.
This is done by Persatuan Usahawan Bersatu Ipoh Perak (PUBI) as an association of entrepreneurs and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) active in the city of Ipoh.
Most recently, PUBI Perak organized the 2023 Urban Community Economic Empowerment Program which lasted for seven days at a hotel in Ipoh.
It is to give courses and skills training to the B40 and urban poor who are registered in the eKasih list.
This program is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Development and Local Government.
The same program is also carried out by 27 other entrepreneurial NGOs in their respective states.
Chairman of the PUBI Group, Shahrul Rahman said, this is the third entrepreneurship program organized by his side.
According to him, the course this time involved 30 participants who had an interest in venturing into the field of entrepreneurship.
“In this session the participants will learn the manufacture of frozen cakes that are in demand in the market.
“Participants attend theory classes for four days while the next session is at a training workshop for practice.
“After completing the course, all participants will be given a starter kit to start a small business,” he told here.
The guidance also continues when the PUBI will monitor the progress of the participants in a certain period to ensure that they can generate income.
This is to ensure the success of the participants and at the same time be able to improve the economy of their respective families.
Commenting further, Sharul said, PUBI always works closely with government agencies related to entrepreneurship to explore any related opportunities.
Apart from that, he said, PUBI Perak as a caring NGO, also plays a big role in the community by carrying out charitable, social, welfare and community activities.
This is to provide very useful benefits to entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs.
