PASIR SALAK: Heavy rain that went on for over two hours resulted in several houses in the Sungai Manik area being damaged and roofs being blown off by the wind.
According to the spokesperson of the District Operations Control Center (PKOD) of the Civil Defense Force (APM) in the Hilir Perak district, a total of four areas were affected, involving six residents’ houses.
“APM Hilir Perak received a call regarding the incident at 6.30pm and machinery was moved to the location to monitor and assess the risk in the storm affected area.
“On arrival at the location, it was found that there were six houses that were badly affected and there was roof damage.
“The affected locations are Parit 12B Sungai Manik (2 houses), Parit 10B Sungai Manik (2 houses), Jalan Sg Tukang Sidin (1 house) and Jalan Klinik Kg Sg Tukang Sidin (1 house),” he told reporters on Thursday.
He explained further that the situation in the area is still rainy and so far no temporary evacuation centre (PPS) has been opened.
