IPOH – Extensive preparations are underway to welcome Visit Perak Year 2024 (VPY2024), including upgrading infrastructure at various existing tourist attractions.

This is the state government’s commitment to ensure Perak is ready to celebrate and accommodate tourist visits.

To that end, an additional funding of RM7 million has been allocated, with RM3.8 million dedicated to tourism infrastructure projects throughout the state, and the remaining RM3.2 million allocated for promotional activities.

Previously, Perak received an allocation of RM3 million from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC) for the preparation of VPY2024.

Loh Sze Yee, Chairman of the State Tourism Committee, stated that the RM3 million MOTAC allocation is allocated to 12 projects.

“A sum of RM500,000 has been provided to the Lenggong District Council for infrastructure development, including projects related to Lenggong Geopark,” he said.

Over 100 programs have been scheduled for the upcoming year to energize VPY2024.

These include the International Geopark Trail Marathon, Perak International Kite Festival 2024, Perak Triathlon 2024, Pangkor Festival, and Gunung Gerik Festival.
