SITIAWAN: Two senior citizen died in a road accident involving two cars and an express bus near Taman Nesa Sitiawan, here early this morning.
According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department’s (JBPM) Operations Division Assistant Director, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the accident involved a Proton Saga, Proton Persona and an express bus.
He also said that the deceased were a 79-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman in the Proton Persona.
“Members from the Sitiawan Fire and Rescue Station received a call about the incident at 6.15am and rushed to the location.
“There were two victims trapped and confirmed dead at the scene by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) ambulance.
“While the driver of the Proton Saga and 12 passengers and the bus driver are safe,” he told reporters here today.
He explained further, the firemen then acted to remove the trapped victim using rescue tools and then handed over to the police.
The operation led by Senior Fire Officer II, Azmi Mohd Yusuf ended at 7.33am.
