IPOH: Traffic diversions and road closures will be implemented around Sultan Azlan Shah Roundabout (Amanjaya Roundabout), Meru Raya, here on Wednesday (August 30), starting from 8 p.m.
Ipoh District Police Chief, ACP Yahaya Hassan, stated that this is to facilitate the organization of the Perak State Independence Day Celebration event.
He mentioned that the roads involved in the phased closure and diversion are Sultan Azlan Shah Roundabout, Lebuh Meru Raya, Persiaran Meru Raya 1, Persiaran Meru Raya 2, Persiaran Meru Raya 3, and Persiaran Meru Raya 4.
“The Ipoh District Police will carry out the closure and road diversions starting from 8 p.m. until completion.
“Visitor parking is proposed at the parking area of Restoran Abang Sayang, around Jalan Meru Bestari, the rear road of Hotel Casuarina Meru, and other surrounding areas that do not obstruct traffic flow,” he informed reporters in a statement on Tuesday.
Therefore, he advised road users, especially Ipoh residents, to plan their journeys and select alternative routes to avoid getting caught in traffic congestion throughout the event.
