IPOH: More than 100 participants from around Malaysia and Singapore participated in the Gymkhana & Autocross competition in conjunction with the Ipoh Auto Carnival 2023 program here recently.

Perak State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee chairman Loh Sze Yee said the two-day carnival program organised by CM Motorsports Sdn Bhd was packed with various events.

“The two-day program also included an exhibition of automated products and Racing Simulation by professional racer, Mika Hakimi.

“The Gymkhana & Autocross competition received more than a hundred participants from all over Malaysia and Singapore.

“It is well organised to encourage the community to engage in healthy activities,” he said through a statement on Facebook here.

Sze Yee said that the carnival program is also a good platform to find individuals with similar interests under one roof and provide exposure and knowledge to many people about the automotive industry.

“This gathering and meeting can be used as a basis to further strengthen the brotherhood of unity and harmony.

“In line with the State Government’s direction, it aims to increase tourists and also emphasises two main strategies, which are to empower tourism products and popularise tourism,” he said.

He added that he hopes tourism operators and automation industry activists will continue to work harder to be able to strengthen branding and marketing promotions that are unique and synonymous with Perak.

“In order to leave a better impact and stimulate tourists to continue travelling to the state of Perak repeatedly.

“It is hoped that the Ipoh Auto Carnival can be made into an annual event that will further enliven the Year of Visiting Perak next year,” he said.
