Indian Consular Facilitation Session in Ipoh

The High Commission of India is organising a one-day Consular Facilitation Session in Ipoh on September 23, from 9 am to 4 pm, at the Wadda Gurdwara Sahib on Jalan Gurdwara 30100 Ipoh, Perak. The objective is to address queries and resolve grievances related to various consular services provided by the Mission and is intended for applicants who are not able to reach out to the Mission  for various reasons.

The broad categories of issues which could be addressed during the Consular Facilitation Session will be pertaining to passport-related services, such as renewal, lost or damaged passports. Including Emergency Certificates (ECs), Registration of Births, Attestation of personal, legal and commercial documents and matters related to Indian Workers.

Although it should be noted that queries regarding Visas will not be addressed during the session and applicants are requested to go to their nearest India Visa Centre for their queries.

In view of several requests received from community organisations, the Mission will also organise an awareness session for those who desire to apply for an OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) card. As such, the session will touch on points such as outlining the procedure for applying for the OCI card, the criteria for eligibility along with the list of admissible supporting documents, the re-issuance and updating of the OCI card and conversion of PIO (Person of Indian Origin) card to OCI card.

In order to facilitate a smooth experience, those with queries are advised to bring along all relevant documentations pertaining to their queries.

The dress code is smart casual and petitioners are kindly requested to wear headgear upon entering Gurdwara Sahib.
