Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant: More than just crowning beauty, it cultivates community care and tourism.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant 2023, organized by D’Touch International Sdn Bhd in collaboration with MyShoppo Sdn Bhd, captivated the audience with an exceptional performance by 18 finalists.

The grand finale of the event took place at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, last Friday.

Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant, in a statement, mentioned that the competition is not just about crowning beauty but also a platform to showcase the diverse cultures of Malaysia from various states.

“Emphasizing tourism, culture, and friendship, it contributes to a broader effort in promoting local tourism.

“From exploring Coach Airways to enjoying offers at Freeport A’Famosa Outlet, experiencing the wonders of Safari Wonderland, and being enchanted by the green landscapes of King’s Park Genting Highlands, these finalists have translated the true spirit and value of beauty,” it said.

According to the statement, to promote the value of ‘Compassionate Hearts,’ the 18 finalists participated in charity visits to the Ti-Ratana Welfare Society and the Silver Jubilee Fund of Raja George V of Selangor.

“They brought joy and delivered essential items to the children and the elderly living there,” it said.

Earlier, the International Entrepreneur Chamber Malaysia Advisor, Dr. Raja Putra Shah, attended the grand finale.

For the grand finale, all 18 finalists competed for three titles, namely Miss Malaysia Tourism 2023, Miss Malaysia Tourism Queen of the Year 2023, and Miss Malaysia Tourism Metropolitan 2023.

The top three winners will not only receive crowns but also cash prizes and sponsorships with a total value of RM117,000.

Additionally, finalists who meet specific requirements will receive scholarships from Peninsula College, each valued at RM25,000.

At the grand finale, the title of Miss Tourism Malaysia 2023 was awarded to Jen Cheang Shi Huii from Kuala Lumpur, while Miss Malaysia Tourism Queen Of The Year 2023 went to Joanne Clare Deaves from Sabah, and Miss Malaysia Tourism Metropolitan 2023 was won by Shelyn Poh from Pahang.

Other titles were awarded to the following contestants: Miss Pavalintang Personality, Ellesha Mescchile; Miss King’s Park Lifestyles, Shelyn Poh; Miss GINTELL Wellness, Joanne Clare Deaves; Miss Clam Sanctuary Goodwill, Roseanne Lim Janny; Miss Le Bisou Charm, Joanne Clare Deaves; Miss Bitney Glamour, Salley Eoh; Best In Talent, Lim Qian, and Best In Social Media, Hera Wong Kin Wei.

The winner of Miss Malaysia Tourism 2023 will represent Malaysia at the 26th Miss Tourism International 2023 World Final, which will be held from November 10 to 27 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu.
