IPOH – Located on the side of the road, this spot has become an eyesore for passersby, particularly those who frequent nearby restaurants.
Every day, anyone travelling along this road is met with a pile of trash.
If there’s no trash heap, there’s sure to be stagnant, dirty water or accumulated waste in this area.
What’s particularly irksome is that garbage trucks often make unscheduled stops here before their workers proceed to sort and dispose of the trash.
Despite the belief that this trash is meant for recycling, some of it often ends up on the road before the garbage trucks move on.
Albert, a patron of a local restaurant, lamented that he has witnessed drivers dumping trash from their vehicles here.
He even claimed that some vehicles pull over solely to dispose of household waste.
“This is no secret, as anyone visiting the restaurant here will witness people dumping trash. This place remains dirty because the trash never seems to go away even after it’s been collected,” he stated.
Food delivery driver Rashid Hasan, on the other hand, recounted an incident where he got into a heated argument after reprimanding a woman for disposing of trash in the area.
“Trash was scattered everywhere, but she acted as if nothing had happened. I didn’t want to get into a fight, so I just left the place,” he said.
