Kolej Komuniti Chenderoh Perak was awarded Best Culinary Establishment in Hanoi

IPOH: Kolej Komuniti Chenderoh Perak (KKCP) successfully brought honor to the country by being awarded the Best Culinary Establishment at The 2nd Hanoi Salon Culinaire 2023 competition.

The competition held at the Hanoi International Center for Exhibition in Vietnam, took place over three days with the participation from three countries including Malaysia.

KKCP announced in a statement today that they successfully brought home a total of 14 medals in 16 contested events and won cash amounting to VND22,000,000.

He stated that the KKCP culinary team was led by lecturer, Khairul Ashikhin Abdullah Suhami and five students from the Diploma in Culinary Arts program.

“Muhammad Nabil Hadzrin Hassanudin, Muhammad Hanif Abdul Halim, Muhammad Fikri Kamaruzaman, Muhammad Syafiq Daniel Shaharudin, and Muhammad Amirul Hakim Rahimudin achieved three gold, six silver, five bronze medals and two diplomas.

“The competition was judged by a panel of professional judges from Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan, China, Switzerland, Australia, Hong Kong, Maldives, Britain and Sri Lanka led by Chef Otto Weibel,” he said.

Meanwhile, he further explained that the service and hospitality provided to the KKCP team had a profound impact, thereby boosting their spirit and motivation to strive harder in the competition.

“The delightful experience while being here, participants were thrilled when given the opportunity to choose their own plates and bowls at the Vhoreca Warehouse for use in the competition sponsored by Vhoreca Ceramic and Stoneware

“Furthermore, participants were treated to Halal Angus Tenderloin Beef, Wagyu Sirloin Steak and Lamb Cutlets from Australia delivered directly to the specially sponsored hotel by MLA under the company Dinh Vong Meat and Seafood for the competition.

The KKCP event received primary support and sponsorship from Salmi Hj. Tamin Sdn. Bhd,” he added.

“Previously, KKCP won a total of 10 medals in the La Cuisine 5th Edition @ SIAL Interfood Indonesia 2023 competition held from November 8 to 11 at the Jakarta International Exhibition and Arena (JIEXPO).

In addition, Khairul Ashikhin, who is a Senior Lecturer at KKCP, has been appointed as the Malaysia Lambassador for a year by Meat & Livestock Australia.

“This success proves that the Community College is capable of producing talented students and excellent lecturers,” he said.
