TELUK INTAN: A total of 30 flood victims from seven families were relocated to the temporary relocation center (PPS) at Padang Tembak Multipurpose Hall here late Saturday afternoon.
This is a result of heavy rain and flooding that affected three areas in the Hilir Perak district at Batu 9, Lorong Kedah and Lorong Belakang Klinik.
According to the Chairman of the Disaster Management Committee for the Hilir Perak District, Saidi Shaari, the PPS was officially opened at 6 pm today.
“The 30 victims consist of a baby boy, six boys, five girls, eight adult men, 10 women and one disabled woman.
“So far, no roads are impassable due to the flood and the weather is in good condition,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
Additionally, agencies and logistics involved in the operation include the Civil Defense Force (APM) with 10 personnel, police (2), Department of Social Welfare (2), Civil Volunteer Force (Rela) with 3 personnel, and a Village Head (1).
