PUO students and lecturers won awards from MDEC

IPOH: Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO) successfully made a name for itself when two from the institution secured victories from the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).

The awards were received at the eEntrepreneur & Gig Appreciation Night 2024 in Kuala Lumpur.

Lee Hsien Wang, a 6th-semester student majoring in Business Studies,successfully won the High Achiever Award for eEntrepreneur Achievement in 2023.

Also bringing pride to the institution is Azilah Ismail, a lecturer in the Department of Commerce at PUO, who secured third place for the eEntrepreneur Best TVET Lecturer Award in 2023.

This event aims to recognize and appreciate stakeholders and lecturers in the eEntrepreneur and Global Online Workforce (GLOW) programs throughout 2022/2023.

MDEC is a government agency established in 1996 under the Ministry of Digital Economy, with the goal of leading Malaysia’s digital economy.

The victories of PUO students and lecturers represent recognition for the institution’s efforts in providing skilled expertise.

Furthermore, the initiative to produce high-quality TVET graduates with entrepreneurial qualities contributes to the sustainability of the country’s economy.
