By: Zaki Saleh

IPOH: Trees and overgrown bushes that obscured a signboard at the traffic light junction between Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah and Persiaran Sultan Azlan Shah here have been cleared.

Officers from the Ipoh City Council (MBI) carried out the cleaning work.

It is understood that the area falls under the jurisdiction of the Perak State Public Works Department (JKR).

However, MBI took proactive steps to carry out the cleaning work.

In a brief statement to Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic, an MBI spokesperson said the cleaning included trimming overgrown trees.

“For this case, it falls under the jurisdiction of JKR, however, we have directed MBI officers to conduct the cleaning,” the spokesperson said.

Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic previously reported that lack of maintenance resulted in trees and bushes obscuring the signboard at the traffic light junction.

This issue was raised by residents and netizens.

As a result, the important message displayed on the signboard couldn’t be read.
