IPOH: For the first time, a seminar on Electronic Invoicing and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 is being held in Perak as a step towards business digitization.

It is scheduled to take place on June 8 at Hotel Casuarina @ Meru.

The program aims to contribute back to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Jelapang State Assembly area.

Through this program, players within SMEs can deepen their understanding of the Electronic Invoicing Policy, which will be implemented soon.

This free seminar is an initiative organized by the Jelapang State Assemblyman, Cheah Pou Hian.

It is estimated that around 500 participants will take part in this seminar.

The Electronic Invoicing Policy will be implemented by the Inland Revenue Board gradually according to the income range or annual sales starting from August next year.

Initially, it will be imposed on taxpayers with income or sales exceeding RM100 million.

The second stage, in January 2025, involves those with annual income or sales ranging from RM25 million to RM100 million.

Implementation for all taxpayers will begin in July 2025.

Cheah said that this seminar follows the first phase of the ‘SME Door to Door Survey’ plan, which was completed last March.

As a result, most SMEs want to know how electronic invoicing can be handled.

“We want SMEs in the Jelapang State Assembly and those present to understand how government policies can help in their short-term and long-term company plans,” he said.

This seminar received cooperation from the Jelapang State Assembly Service Center, the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Finance (MOF), and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.
