Roads around Tambun closed, diverted for the smooth running of World Firefighters Day 2024

IPOH: In conjunction with the celebration of World Firefighters Day 2024, several main roads around Tambun will be closed to ensure the smooth running of the event.

World Firefighters Day 2024 will be held this Saturday on Jalan Tambun Road, Sunway City, Ulu Kinta.

The Ipoh District Police Headquarters stated that the closures and diversions are to facilitate the procession and parade.

The Chief of Ipoh District Police, Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, said that the closure and diversion will be implemented starting from today, commencing at 6:30 in the morning until 12 noon until Saturday.

“The roads involved are the main route of Dataran Sunway (activation of the two-way route of Jalan Tambun – Tanjung Rambutan) and alternative routes to Banjaran and Sunway Onsen.

“While the alternative routes that can be used during the closure and diversion are Jalan Perpaduan and Jalan Bercham,” he said in the statement.

In connection with that, the public is requested to plan their travels to avoid congestion.

The World Firefighters Day celebration will be officiated by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Among the anticipated events are parades and processions of fire officers and personnel, fire engines, Special Units, and the involvement of various agency firefighters.
