IPOH: Complaints and grievances from residents of Jalan Hospital Apartment about the condition of their homes, basic amenities, and deteriorating environment have long been voiced.

These apartments are public housing, with Phase 1 completed in 1971 and Phase 2 in 1982.

They consist of 12 blocks of 4-storey buildings totaling 580 units.

It is undeniable that this housing is quite old and needs refurbishment and maintenance for the safety and comfort of all residents.

The voices of these residents caught the attention of the Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming, during his field visit there.

He then announced an allocation of RM500,000 to the Perak Housing and Property Board (LPHP) for the upgrading of the residential area.

“This allocation involves works such as repainting the buildings and replacing handrails on stairways.

“We will also allocate RM10.8 million, including RM3.3 million under the Public Housing Maintenance Program (PPP) for public strata housing,” he said.

In another development, Kor Ming also announced the upgrading of the lift facilities at Kinta Heights Apartments and the establishment of a community fire station.
