PARIT BUNTAR: The commitment to providing affordable housing for the people of Perak continues with the launch of the Rumah Perakku Phase 2 project at Taman Kerian Putra, Parit Buntar.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the project was conducted by the Perak Chief Minister, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad.
Phase 2 involves the construction of 100 additional housing units, expected to be completed by 2026, along with the construction of a two-story office shop, which will be finished in stages.
Previously, Rumah Perakku Phase 1 included 150 housing units, sold starting at RM95,000 after a subsidy from the Perak Housing and Property Board (LPHP).
At the event, some of the 30 buyers who previously received the Perak Sejahtera Housing Loan offer in April received their house keys.
In his speech, Saarani stated that the construction of Phase 2 is evidence of the state government’s commitment to ensuring that people have access to affordable and comfortable housing.
He said this effort is aimed at enabling more Perak residents to own their own homes through available housing assistance schemes.
“This project is also expected to have a significant economic impact, including with the presence of the Kerian Integrated Green Industrial Park (KIGIP).
“It will provide job opportunities and attract substantial investments from both domestic and international sources.
“Hopefully, similar projects can be expanded throughout the state of Perak so that more people can own affordable homes,” he said.
