52 Programmes Featured in the Taiping Tourism Calendar 2025

TAIPING: A total of 52 programmes have been organised by the Taiping Municipal Council (MPT) for the Taiping 2025 Tourism and Community Activity Calendar throughout this year.

Among the events scheduled for this month is the 15th National Ngar Kor Ming Chinese Calligraphy Competition on January 19.

Also to be held will be the Cross Street Bazaar every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

In February, the events include Jom Membatik in Taiping 2.0 and the Columbia Asia Taiping Run 2025.

The launch of the Taiping 2025 Tourism Calendar took place during the 150th Anniversary Tea Session of Taiping, as part of the celebration of Taiping’s 150th Anniversary.

It was officiated by the Perak State Executive Councillor for Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development, Loh Sze Yee, alongside the MPT President, Khairul Amir Muhammad Zubir.

Also present were the District Officer of Larut Matang & Selama, Orang Kaya Menteri Paduka Tuan Dato’ Seri Wan Mohd. Isa Dato’ Wan Mohd. Razalli.

Earlier, the event was held to honour the organisers, strategic partners, and the media who had contributed to the success of the 150th Anniversary Celebration of Taiping (1874-2024).

A total of 154 events were held throughout the celebration, involving international, national, state, and community-level activities.

The 150th Anniversary of Taiping not only celebrated the city’s illustrious history but also served as a symbol of unity for the people of the Larut and Matang district.
