IPOH: Drainage issues have caused frequent flash floods in Taman Rishah Phase 1 during heavy rains due to water overflow.
Residents have called for improvements to the drainage system to resolve this issue.
Their concerns were addressed when the State Legislative Assembly Member (ADUN) for Jelapang, Cheah Pou Hian, raised the matter with the authorities.
Following the complaint, the Ministry of Housing and Local Government approved a fund of RM250,000 to upgrade the drainage system along Jalan Rishah, Taman Rishah Phase 1.
The repairs will be carried out by the Ipoh City Council through an appointed contractor.
Meanwhile, Thanaletchumi, the Chairman of the Taman Rishah Neighborhood Association (KRT), expressed gratitude on behalf of the residents to the ADUN of Jelapang for his concern.
“The KRT of Taman Rishah had requested the ADUN’s assistance to widen the pipe route as the flooding has become more frequent during heavy rain, with the field often flooded with water.
“Residents are thankful to him for bringing this issue to the higher authorities for action,” she said.
