IPOH: A tree-planting initiative has been undertaken as part of efforts to enhance greenery in Ipoh while beautifying the city’s landscape.
A total of 30 students from Kolej Poly-Tech Mara (KPTM) Ipoh participated in the programme by planting 15 Kelat Paya trees at the intersection of Lebuh Rajawali and Jalan Bayan, Kampung Dato Ahmad Said Tambahan Dua.
The initiative, part of KPTM Ipoh’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, was carried out with guidance from officers of the Ipoh City Council’s (MBI) Landscape Department.
Following a briefing, the students, together with residents, worked hand in hand to plant the trees.
Also present at the event were Tambun Parliamentary Office Officer, Mohd Zain Puteh, and village head, Rahman Hamid.
Meanwhile, MBI Manjoi Zone Councillor, Ahmad Khair Faizal, commended the students for their contribution to the community.
He also expressed his gratitude to KPTM Ipoh Director, Anisa Mohd Yusoff, for supporting the initiative.
