1,800 participants celebrate Women Night Run

By Zaki Salleh

IPOH: After receiving a great response last year, the Women Night Run event once again attracted its fans.

While last year’s event gathered 1,500 participants, this edition saw an even warmer reception with 1,800 participants from all over Perak.

The event was also attended by the State Exco for Women, Family, Community Welfare, Entrepreneur Development, and Cooperatives, Dato’ Salbiah Mohamed.

She stated that the gathering that night symbolized the solidarity of women, emphasizing that women’s voices and rights must always be protected and upheld.

Women are also a symbol of strength in society and the foundation of both family and national institutions.

“It’s so lively! More than 1,800 participants from across Perak registered and ran through the heart of Ipoh City.

“There are so many amazing women, and it’s not just about the run. This is the fight of the Perak government, which continues to elevate the status of women as the strength of the state, not just as complements.

“Thank you once again to all the women and supporters who came out to show their support. Remember, Women are the Inspiration, the Catalyst for Aspiration,” she said.

The event, held at the Perak State Youth and Sports Complex, was also attended by department staff and various state government agencies.
