TANJUNG MALIM: The ISE: Inspiring Souls Exhibition at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) showcases works by renowned artists who are also alumni of ITM School of Art & Design, Batch 1994-1997.

This exhibition serves as a tribute to the late Roslizam Ismail@ISE, an ITM alumnus and a dedicated fine art practitioner.

The late Roslizam was a Malaysian artist who gained international recognition, exhibiting his works in Jakarta, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, Tokyo, Seoul, New Delhi, and New York.

Held from January 15 to February 26, the exhibition was an initiative by the UPSI Malay Civilization Institute in collaboration with ITM Art & Design Alumni, Batch 1994-1997.

Director of the UPSI Malay Civilization Institute, Prof. Dr. Tajul Suhaizam Said, stated that the exhibition offered visitors an opportunity to explore various art pieces highlighting the evolving roles of ITM alumni in education and the arts over the past 30 years.

According to him, who also serves as the exhibition curator, artworks from 10 contributing exhibitors were displayed, with their creations serving as valuable resources for research, teaching, and learning at UPSI.

“These works, valued at over RM50,000, reflect the deep appreciation for art and education among Malaysia’s artistic community.

“This exhibition not only strengthens ties between academia and artists but also reinforces UPSI’s role as an institution that continues to promote arts and culture in the national education system.

“With exhibitions like this, we hope to inspire more artistic initiatives for future generations,” he said.
