TAPAH: The needs of the less fortunate in celebrating Aidilfitri have not been forgotten, and they are always given attention.
This year, the Perak state government contributed Raya aid to 9,000 recipients across the state through the Meriah Beraya Sejahtera Bersama program.
The recipients include the asnaf, orphans, low-income families, and the elderly.
This year, the Perak state government allocated RM1.35 million for the special Raya aid, with each recipient receiving RM150.
Earlier, the launch of the Meriah Beraya Sejahtera Bersama 2025 program was officiated by Perak Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad, at the Dato’ Kamaruddin Hall in Bidor.
Also present was the Exco for Women’s Development, Family, Community Welfare, Entrepreneurial Development, and Cooperatives, Dato’ Salbiah Mohamed.
In her speech, Salbiah thanked the Menteri Besar of Perak for approving the application to organize the program.
This is the third year the program has been held.
“The Meriah Beraya program is part of the initiatives carried out by the state government to share the joy and excitement of celebrating Syawal with the community.
“It is hoped that this aid will lighten the burden of the asnaf in preparing for the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration,” she said.
