IPOH: The Perak state government, through Perak SADC and Yayasan Perak, has allocated RM1.0 million annually to sponsor students pursuing full-time undergraduate degrees in agriculture and plantation studies at several universities.

This year, six new recipients were selected.
This brings the total number of scholarship recipients under this program to 65 since it was introduced in 2022.
The universities involved in this sponsorship include Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), and Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS).
Through this initiative, recipients not only receive educational sponsorships but also bear the responsibility of becoming the next generation of experts to lead the transformation of the agricultural sector through new approaches and modern technology.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Perak State Committee for Rural Development, Plantations, Agriculture & Food Industry, Datuk Mohd Zolkafly Harun, represented the Perak Chief Minister at the Perak SADC-Yayasan Perak Agrotech Scholarship Award Ceremony held at Hotel Casuarina, Ipoh.
