MANJUNG RUN RETURNS WITH SCENIC ROUTES AND A FULL MARATHON DEBUT

Manjung’s flagship run makes its way to Teluk Batik, infusing a vibrant fusion of fitness tourism and community spirit in the popular beach destination.

MANJUNG, July 1 – Manjung Run is making its return this October, seamlessly blending fitness, tourism and community spirit into a truly thrilling and fun-packed full-marathon experience. Taking place on 11 October 2025, this year’s event, organised by Vale and the Majlis Perbandaran Manjung (MPM) brings the excitement to Teluk Batik, a popular seaside destination in Perak celebrated for its soft sandy shores, tranquil waves and natural greenery.

From the tranquil ripple of waves to striking mural trails at Manjung’s emerging art quarters, this year’s route showcases Manjung’s natural beauty and cultural flair. Interesting sights along the route include the newly revitalised community space near Pasar Awam Manjung, known as Dataran Doodle Art at Manjung Lama, which is increasingly becoming a central meeting point for leisure and recreation, fostering strong family bonds and community interactions. The space, which was conceived as part of Vale’s RM5.0 million partnership with MPM to foster urban rejuvenation in Manjung, showcases Manjung’s sights and sounds captured through beautifully curated mural scenes by prominent Perak-based muralists, Lakar by Mekar and Jepah Studio.

Building upon the success of last year’s event, the 2025 edition of Manjung Run proudly debuts its 42.2KM full marathon category, catering to seasoned runners while retaining popular race options for beginners, families, and casual participants with its lineup of categories – 21.1km, 10km and 5km. Both the 42.2km and 21.1km races are competitive events that offer cash prizes to top finishers.

“This event reflects the strong community spirit in Manjung – vibrant, inclusive, and deeply rooted in culture and appreciation of heritage,” said Tuan Muhammad Faizal Shah Safian Suri, Yang Dipertua Majlis Perbandaran Manjung. “We are proud to invite Malaysians to experience Manjung and embrace wellness along Teluk Batik’s scenic coastline, while also contributing to local vibrancy and tourism.”

Mr Leonardo Paiva, Chief Executive Officer of Vale in Malaysia, added, “We are committed to supporting Manjung’s urban transformation as a thriving sustainable tourism destination; aligned with our strategy to support the Perak Sejahtera 2030 vision for the district. Vale has been in Manjung for over a decade, and we look forward to continuing to invest in high-impact social initiatives in the district that can generate sustainable and inclusive growth for the local community”.

Beyond the finish line, runners and spectators can look forward to a full-day experience not to be missed, from beachside games and wellness corners to local food offerings and interactive community booths. More exciting highlights, including special guests and spotlight activities will be shared in the coming months.
