SLIM RIVER: Blood donors are silent heroes – unseen, yet always ready to step forward.
These words perfectly reflect the sincerity of blood donors who selflessly contribute without hesitation.
In recognition of their contribution, special awards were presented in conjunction with the 2025 World Blood Donor Day Appreciation Ceremony organized by the Perak State Health Department.
A total of 36 blood donors received certificates of appreciation from the department for their generous contributions.
Additionally, 15 blood donation program organizers were also recognized for their continuous support of the Transfusion Unit in ensuring a steady blood supply for patients in need.
This year’s celebration was hosted by Slim River Hospital.
Held under the theme “Give Blood, Give Hope, Together We Save Lives,” the event was officiated by Perak State Health Executive Councillor, A. Sivanesan.
In addition to the presentation of plaques and certificates to recipients, a variety of activities took place throughout the program.
These included a blood donation drive, health screening, sales booths, and exhibitions held in the hospital’s main lobby.
The program saw the participation of around 200 attendees, including hospital staff and members of the public.
