By Owen Lee

Hospital Fatimah HealthFest 2025 was successfully held on 6th July 2025 at the Church of Our Mother of Perpetual Help (OMPH), offering a vibrant and informative day focused on health and wellness for the community.

The one-day event drew families, senior citizens, and young adults alike, eager to engage in health talks, free screenings, and wellness activities at all under one roof.

Two expert speakers from Hospital Fatimah delivered informative sessions that touched on common yet crucial health topics. Consultant Ophthalmologist, Dr. Tan Ee Ling’s talk, “Healthy Eyes”, shed light on proper eye care and the importance of early detection in maintaining vision.

Meanwhile, Consultant Bariatric Surgeon, Dr. Satkunan Mark inspired attendees with “Slim & Strong: The Role of Diet in Today’s World”, highlighting practical dietary tips for a balanced lifestyle.

Adding flavour to the event, the hospital’s Food Services Department hosted a healthy food demonstration, drawing interest with simple yet nutritious meal ideas. Throughout the day, participants took advantage of complimentary health screenings, including BMI, blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol checks, and even physiotherapy assessments for back and neck health.

Pharmacists were also on hand to answer medication-related questions, while Befrienders Ipoh provided support to people on mental health awareness to address the growing mental health issues in today’s fast-paced society.

In addition, the event offered free registrations for the Fatimah Kids Club (A free programme for children aged 12 and under who were born at or have used the hospital’s Paediatric services) and Silver Stars Club (Designed for senior citizens aged 55 and above, offering them exclusive benefits to support their health and social engagement), alongside exciting door gifts and lucky draw prizes, including healthy food products and wellness hampers.

Hospital Fatimah expressed deep gratitude to OMPH Church for hosting and to the community for its enthusiastic participation in making the HealthFest a meaningful success.
