Bukit Merah Laketown Resort Still Operating Despite Receding Water Levels

TAIPING: The Bukit Merah Laketown Resort (BMLR) theme park is still operating as usual.

This statement was made by BMLR’s management following viral news claiming that the vacation spot had closed due to falling water levels in Bukit Merah Lake caused by the dry season.

BMLR Resort Manager, M. Danesh, said the drought and hot weather have led to a drop in water levels at Bukit Merah Lake, a situation that occurs every year.

He explained that only lake-based recreational activities have had to be temporarily suspended.

“Due to the drop in lake water levels, we’ve had to temporarily halt activities such as kayaking and visits to the Orangutan Island.

“However, theme park activities remain unaffected. Hotel operations and the theme park, including various rides and attractions, are still open as usual,” he said.

Also continuing operations are jungle trekking activities, team-building programs involving companies and government agencies, and the animal park.

According to Danesh, the public can visit BMLR’s website or Facebook page to get the latest updates on the theme park.
