IPOH: The route along Jalan Raja Permaisuri Bainun here has been in complete darkness at night due to streetlights malfunctioning after a low-voltage supply box (feeder pillar) was recently hit.
According to one complainant, the road condition is very dangerous for road users, especially motorcyclists, when it gets dark.
He further stated that the issue has not been resolved even though it’s been a week since the damage occurred and the streetlights stopped working.
“I commute to work through that route regularly, and the road is extremely dark at night. It’s dangerous and could potentially lead to accidents.
“The streetlights are maintained by the Ipoh City Council (MBI). We urge MBI to act quickly by installing a new feeder pillar to restore the electricity supply and reactivate the streetlights.
“The location is near the Sultan Abdullah Roundabout, in front of MGS School and Vegan Delights Cafe,” he told Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic.
