IPOH: Several major roads in the city will be closed and traffic rerouted in stages beginning Tuesday to facilitate rehearsals for the Perak state-level Warriors’ Day 2025 celebration.
The two-day full-dress rehearsal will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 7:30 am to 10:00 am. The official celebration is scheduled to be held on Thursday.
Among the affected roads are Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab (Medan Kid), which will be diverted to Jalan St. John and Jalan S.P. Senivasagam.
Traffic on Jalan S.P. Senivasagam will be rerouted towards Medan Kid; Jalan Raja Musa Aziz will be diverted to Jalan Kuala Kangsar; Jalan Tun Abdul Razak to Jalan Raja Musa Aziz; and Jalan Kuala Kangsar to Jalan Raja Musa Aziz.
Jalan Sultan Iskandar, from the Menteri Besar’s Roundabout, will serve as the designated route for dignitaries and will operate in a contra-flow direction when entering Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab, near KTM Ipoh, the State Mosque, and the Perak Contingent Police Headquarters.
Members of the public are advised to plan their journeys to avoid the affected routes during the programme.
Motorists are also urged to obey traffic signs and follow the instructions of on-duty police officers. Alternative routes will be made available.
