By Zaki Salleh

TELUK INTAN: More than 100 participants gathered at Dataran JPS Durian Sebatang, Teluk Intan, for the Shell Fit & Fun Malaysia program.

This community-driven initiative combined light recreational exercise with fun, aiming to bring locals together in a cheerful and healthy environment.

Organized by Shell Malaysia (Northern Region), the event drew participation from various segments of society, including representatives from government agencies, youth organizations, volunteer activists, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Among them were the Kiwanis Club of Changkat Jong Teluk Intan, Anson Bay Medical Centre, GPMS Teluk Intan, and the Generasi Peduli Sampah Malaysia Association.

A main highlight of the event was the ‘Jom TipPah’ activity — short for Jom Kutip Sampah (Let’s Pick Up Trash) — held alongside the fitness session.

This initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and love for nature, especially among the younger generation.

The activity was led by Datin Norelan Ismail and was further highlighted by the presence of National and ASEAN Youth Icon Beh Zeng Kang, as well as Shell Malaysia’s Northern Region Manager, Leesharran Sunmugaraja.

Meanwhile, the President of the Teluk Intan Municipal Council (MPTI), Zairul Akmal Kassim, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the commitment shown by all parties involved.

He also expressed hope that such programs would be held regularly each month and attract even broader community participation in the future.
