IPOH: Business premises across the state of Perak are requested to fly the Jalur Gemilang and the Perak state flag in front of their buildings throughout Independence Month.
This effort aims to enliven the celebration of Malaysia’s 68th National Day on August 31 and Malaysia Day on September 16.

In a statement, the Malaysian Information Department announced that the flag-flying period will run from August 1 to September 16, 2025.
The initiative is part of efforts to cultivate patriotic spirit and foster unity among the people in the lead-up to these two important national celebrations.
“With this year’s theme, ‘Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni’ (Malaysia MADANI: A Nation Cares), flying the national flag is not just a physical symbol, but also a reflection of national identity, love for the country, and solidarity among Malaysians.
Jalur Gemilang is a symbol of every Malaysian’s love for the homeland!” the statement read.
This call is hoped to instill a sense of patriotism among the public, especially business owners, while adding a festive atmosphere to commercial areas.
The Malaysian Information Department also encourages all parties to actively participate in this campaign to strengthen the spirit of national unity.
