A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on 31 July, between Junior Chambers International (JCI) Ipoh and Smartrider Holding Sdn. Bhd., Persatuan Sahabat Ekologi Perak, Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah Perak, A Plus Tuition Centre and NEE Event, as witnessed by YB Teh Kok Lim and also in the presence of other sponsors and supporters of the MoU, such as representatives from Rimba Tissue Culture Sdn. Bhd., Kawan Renergy Berhad, Cheng & Co Foundation, ESG & Co and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perak branch.

This MoU was made in the interest of contributing to the protection of Perak’s ecological future, through the plan of planting 1000 trees by the end of the year.
The organisations gathered for the MoU all understand the importance of preserving the planet’s ecological health. The speakers at this signing spoke on topics from preserving air quality to preventing flash floods, and maintaining Perak’s beauty for future generations.
In addition to the contributions of sponsors such as Kawan Renergy Berhad, Rimba Tissue Culture Sdn. Bhd., Sunrider, NEE Event, A Plus Tuition Centre, Goodwill Dental, YB Teh Kok Lim also arranged for a token to be contributed to his project to plant 1000 trees.
JCI Ipoh is hard at work in securing suitable locations for planting the trees. Rather than only planting them at forest reserves, they want to plant the right trees at the right locations for the best long term impact, such as SJKC Guntong. They invite schools which are interested to join in this project, to contact them.
The contact for this project are organisation chairperson, William Ooi at 010-6541931 and JCI Ipoh local president, Emily Wong at 012-5391003
