IPOH: A man died after being trapped inside an excavator that was buried by soil while carrying out earthworks on a hillside in Keramat Pulai, Simpang Pulai, earlier today.
According to a spokesperson from the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), the 60-year-old victim was confirmed dead at the scene.
A team of six firefighters from the Simpang Pulai Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the location.
“Upon arrival, part of the soil had already buried the driver’s cabin, making it impossible to retrieve the victim immediately.
“Another excavator was used to remove the soil that had buried the machine.
“The victim was eventually retrieved but was confirmed dead at the scene by a medical team from the Ministry of Health (KKM),” the spokesperson said here today.
The victim’s body was later handed over to the police for further action.
