IPOH: Just a day after a complaint was published, the Ipoh City Council (MBI) took action by cutting down a tree that had branches extending dangerously over Jalan Pengkalan Barat 18, heading towards SMK Kampung Pasir Putih.

Not only was that particular tree addressed, but several other large trees along the same road with similarly dangerous branches were also trimmed.
Previously, the issue of the large tree was reported by Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic following public concern about the danger it posed to road users.
One of the branches had been hanging over the road shoulder for several months, creating a potential hazard.
If motorists, especially motorcyclists, were not alert, the branch could have posed a serious risk to their safety.

MBI’s swift action, taken just one day after the dangerous situation was reported, reflects the council’s efficiency in responding to public complaints related to safety.
Thank you to MBI for the prompt action taken.
