By Zaki Salleh

KAMPAR: The Malaysia Merdeka@SMK Kampar Program at the Kinta Selatan District level 2025 was successfully held with a strong sense of patriotism.

It involved close cooperation between various parties, including the Kinta Selatan District Education Office (PPD), Matang Museum, National Archives of Malaysia (Perak Branch), Kinta Valley Geopark, Malaya Historical Group Society, and the Perak Artists Association.

According to the program’s coordinating teacher, Nor Hisham Zulkifli, the initiative aimed to introduce the nation’s history in a more interactive and out-of-classroom manner, thus providing students with a more meaningful learning experience.

“Through exhibitions such as military equipment and uniforms, heritage demonstrations like the making of labu sayong (a traditional water pitcher), and displays of geopark stones, students are able to immerse themselves more deeply in the nation’s heritage and understand the importance of history in shaping national identity,” he said.

The program also received an enthusiastic response from the school community and local residents, who attended to witness the variety of exciting activities on offer.

The organizers expressed their heartfelt thanks to all parties involved and for their support, which helped make the program a proud success in fostering the spirit of independence among the younger generation.
